Hillside Distinctives

  1. A Commitment to Multiplying Disciples and Churches. We presently have three sites and our goal is to plant additional churches, which will also plant more churches.
  2. Relevant, Practical Biblical Teaching. Most North American believers’ worldviews have been unconsciously influenced by Western culture. Our goal is to help those who attend Hillside to develop and live out a truly biblical worldview.
  3. Sermon Based Small Groups. Authentic fellowship was at the core of the early church but is rarely experienced by Christians today. Our hope and prayer is that folks will have the opportunity to experience deep, caring relationships with their brothers and sisters in Christ. The Sermon Based approach allows all our groups to¬†focus on the same topic (Sunday’s sermon) and encourages groups to dig deeper into the word.
  4. Service Outside the Walls. Jesus combined good works and Good News. In today’s skeptical world we, too, must serve others. We cannot hide within the walls of the church but must assist the hurting and marginalized within our communities.
  5. Disciple Making Teen and Children’s Ministry. We want to have our ministry to youth designed so that we do the best job we can to help them become committed followers of Christ.
  6. Radical Commitment to Missions. Locally this means investing and inviting those in our FRAN (Friends, Relatives, Associates, and Neighbors) networks to put their trust in Christ. Globally this means sacrificing so we can invest more time and resources in reaching unreached peoples. We want to send more people to engage in reaching the unreached.
  7. Contextualized Approach to Ministry. Without compromising biblical truth we are willing to adapt our style of ministry to match up with those we want to reach.
