Who would have thought a few months ago that we would be experiencing such unusual times? There is a lot of uncertainty, panic, and fear around the world. Fortunately we serve a God who is certain, who holds all things together, and is in control.
We will be cancelling Sunday morning services for the next two weeks. This is not a decision that was taken lightly, but with prayer and serious consideration. We thought it best to follow the directives laid down by those in charge and to lovingly play our part in staying home. We hope to be back together soon.
We will post the video of the upcoming sermon on http://hillsidecommunitychurch.com/sermons/ and also on Hillside’s Facebook page. We encourage you to watch this at your convenience, whether that means Sunday morning or another time.
We are going to offer a prayer walk in Bellwood at 10 AM for any who would like to participate. If you would like to join us please meet at the church. We can break into groups of 2-3 and walk around town praying for our neighbors.
We spoke on Sunday about living wisely, making the most of every opportunity. Even though we are not meeting together, we know that God is providing His people opportunities to live out their faith. As needs arise around you, do what you can to meet those needs. Be a light in a dark place. Be filled with God’s Spirit.
We will look to keep you up to date as things progress.
Update 3/21/20: Since church is canceled tomorrow we want to encourage people who feel comfortable to prayer walk. Walk around your neighborhood praying for the families who live close to you. Also you can gather at the church at 10am in Bellwood to prayer walk. For safety we are asking that families prayer walk together, be a part of a group of 2-3, or go by yourself
